Political calculations be damned, if Obama ouija-ed David Axelrod's comb-over and the planchette said chose right, he chose the right thing, small as it is, something Prior Hitler (and Prior Hitler's henchmen*) never would.
Bleggel-gazing? Each time I suggest Obama's taint isn't always toxic, I lose one bookmarker.
Oh well.
* This paragraph perfectly captures the pussified essense and pussified logic and pussified worldview of bedwetting pussies:
Disclosure of the techniques is likely to be met by faux outrage, and is perfectly packaged for media consumption. It will also incur the utter contempt of our enemies. Somehow, it seems unlikely that the people who beheaded Nicholas Berg and Daniel Pearl, and have tortured and slain other American captives, are likely to be shamed into giving up violence by the news that the U.S. will no longer interrupt the sleep cycle of captured terrorists even to help elicit intelligence that could save the lives of its citizens.
Mock the .06% Less-Shitty Theory all you want. Though it's only .06%. Yes, I know - we don't all need Naomi Klein to heal our broken rube's heart.

TODAY IN FREDERICK COUNTY!
A passerby stopped about 10:30 a.m. to help a woman who was lying in the middle of Md. 355 near Lew Wallace Street in Urbana , Cpl. Jennifer Bailey said. When the passerby called 911, the woman in the road got up, began yelling, and hit the passerby in the left eye. She continued to yell and scream and got a belt from her vehicle which she waved around, Bailey said.
The woman, later identified as Angela Moonsun Shinn, 56, of Valrico, Fla., returned to her vehicle, a silver Chevrolet Trailblazer with Florida tags, and drove north on Rt. 355, Sgt. William Folden said.
Sheriff’s deputies chased Shinn at speeds reaching 100 miles per hour, Bailey said. To avoid a collision, deputies abandoned the chase in the area of Riverview Plaza and the Francis Scott Key Mall, Folden said.
Shinn headed east on I-70, Bailey said. Deputies asked a Maryland State Police trooper at the New Market Scale House near I-70 and Md. 75 to put stop sticks in the roadway.
Shinn swerved to avoid the stop sticks and lost control of the SUV, Folden said. When she veered off I-70 east of Md. 75, the Trailblazer struck the end of a guardrail, then ran into a tree.
Shinn was flown by state police helicopter to Washington County Hospital for evaluation and treatment of her injuries. Her condition is not known.
AND
Deputies arrested Gregory A. Tetlow, 45, after items were stolen from two Frederick Wal-Marts and the Giant Eagle on West Patrick Street, Cpl. Jennifer Bailey said. The items included two televisions, two packages of bacon, bagels and cream cheese.

LANDFALL
Carl Phillips
From here, I can see that ritual is but a form of
routine charged with mystery, and the mystery is faith -
whatever, by now, that might be. Twilight. The usual
eyeful of stars appearing, looking the way stars at first
always do: locked, stable.
My friend, to whom
sadness had once felt almost too familiar - Step into it,
he used to say, stare up and out from it - tells me now
he misses it. He wants to know does that mean
he's happy?
In the dark, he turns to me. The silences
rise to either side of us: silence of intimacy when
estranged from risk; of risk itself when there's no one
to take it - nobody willing to; silence, by which the dead
can be told more easily apart from the merely broken...
