One of my friend's at _______ is an econ-prof, and over lunch this past Friday he was talking about the financial crisis and I thought of a major theme of this bleg, how the geniuses of science and math admit they don't know what they're unleashing in the name of discovery and how the geniuses of power who profit from the geniuses of science and math don't care about the chaos their funding creates as long as it turns a profit.

It's not the quality of clusterfuck that's changed, what's changed in the rapidity in which the quantity of clusterfuck is exponentially expanding. What's changed is the ability of the geniuses of power to hide from us rubes how little control they have over the clusterfucking maelstrom, but what hasn't changed it the ability of the geniuses of power to convert their powerlessness before the clusterfuck into more power over me.

We are fucked, you know, just more exponentially.
