Jesusfreaks dig freakysex!

Recent books and studies seem to indicate disturbing sexual trends among evangelical Christians. And this time we're not talking about their pastors or political leaders. The new attention is on evangelical teenagers, who reportedly start sex earlier than their mainline Protestant peers.

Ask yourself, What would Gerson do?

It would be nice if teen sexual behavior could be automatically changed by an abstinence lecture or a sermon. Setting those norms and expectations, however, is a small part of a larger cultural task. Moral men and women need moral communities.

Meaning, since I'm a Liberal and an atheist, and according to Gerson, who's bloodyhanded for his eloquently crafted lies in the run up to Iraq, atheists "have no objective way to judge the conduct of those who are not," I'm just going to stop giving moral instruction to my 14 year old daughter.

She's a highly moral and chaste kid, despite me. I'll have to trust that she doesn't start hanging out with deeply devout jesusfreaks, lessoned in sexual morality by Gersonpriests, praying to jesus while they're freakydownbusy on their knees anyway.

Eugene Robinson, writing about Gonzales, sort of gets at it:

So when George W. Bush rewrote history the other day by saying that "al-Qaeda terrorists killed Americans on 9/11 [and] they're fighting us in Iraq," the tendency is to duly note that the president is not telling the truth -- there is no evidence whatsoever that al-Qaeda in Iraq, which didn't exist on Sept. 11, 2001, takes orders from Osama bin Laden -- and then move on. Hey, at least it's just talk. At least he didn't invade Iran or Pakistan. Yet.

Democrats, how about invoking Gonzales' lies, Bush's continuing support of Gonzales, when discussing anything and everything but especially Iraq, mmkay?
